God
Alone is Enough
2010.
Wow!
A
decade into the new millennium already. What a year 2009
was. And I look forward to all that God has for this new
year.
As I
look at the state of our nation and the possibilities of the
future, I am reminded of how much we need God's help. I am
not pessimistic and I have a hope in Christ that encourages
me, yet at the same time I realize that there is no hope
without the Lord. He holds the future in His hands, and
these are the times to turn to Him. To put our trust
completely in who He is and what He desires for our lives.
In
Christ we will find all we need to face the uncertainties of
tomorrow. And what we have in Christ is enough for whatever
comes into our lives.
We do
have available to us all we need to live, and to live godly
lives. 2 Peter 1:3-4 says;
3His
divine power has given us everything we need for life and
godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his
own glory and goodness. 4Through these he
has given us his very great and precious promises, so that
through them you may participate in the divine nature and
escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
"Everything
we need for life..."
No other
can offer such assurance!
It
is By God's Divine Power
He has
all the resources necessary to empower us to live life
fully. He has abundant grace to enable us to face life's
adversities victoriously. And as Peter goes on to say, by
His divine power, God has everything we need to live godly
lives.
I am so
concerned with the predominate mindset of so many Christians
who project a sinning religion, when God has provided through
Jesus Christ's crucifixion and resurrection the power to be
set free from sin and set apart to live our lives out for Him!
It
challenges us to ask ourselves, what do we believe in most?
The power of sin or God's divine power in the believer?
If God,
by His very own Divine power, has provided us with everything
we need for life and godliness, then we should be acting upon
His promises and not our own feeble abilities.
What we
believe should reflect what He has provided and promised.
We are to
participate in His Divine nature and escape the corruption and
evil!
I would
challenge each of us to live in that Divine place of God's
power that we might truly be a godly people.
Pray
for this ministry as opportunities are increasing as well as
need for more resources to match the expenses involved in
meeting those opportunities.
