What is Going On!?!?
This week I heard the news story
about the man who killed his wife, children, and even his
dog, then killed himself. He left a note telling how he and
his wife had lost their jobs and couldn't make it, and how
he could not cope with the idea of leaving his family
behind, so he killed them all.
As I read this story I heard one
thing that came through loud and clear - not violence, not
hatred, but what I heard was
HOPELESSNESS!!
Hopelessness, the greatest pain a
person can experience.
There has never been a time in our
history where we have needed the message of HOPE more than
today.
People's hopes are disappearing.
The things we have trusted in as Americans are failing, but
the HOPE of the Gospel remains steadfast and true for those
who trust in the Lord.
JESUS NEVER FAILS!!!
The Scripture tells us; "He is
the same yesterday, today, and forever more."
I want to encourage your HOPE in
God! Isaiah 49:23 says;
"Those who HOPE
in Me (God) will not be disappointed."
What Can
We Do!?!?
This month as I met
with pastors, and as we meet weekly to pray for our city, it
is clear that God is moving. Church as usual is not enough.
We must seek God with our whole heart, mind, body, and soul.
(1 Chronicles 7:14)
For those who are
called of God to proclaim His Word, be encouraged! The
message of Christ is needed. Our world needs to hear it and
see it lived out in our lives on a daily basis.
My
Challenge To All
Pray that God will
give boldness to His people to proclaim the truth of His
word in a world often hostile towards it.
We must take sin
seriously!
We must regard God as Holy!
We must respond obediently!
We must pray for one another faithfully!
Let me also challenge
you right now to ask God to show you a minister of the
Gospel you can pray for specifically, and encourage in some
tangible way, by word, phone call, or any other means God
shows you.
