I am excited about what God is doing and how He is moving through the ministry of Haven of Hope.
It has been a while since I have sent out a newsletter and I wanted to share with you what God has been doing.
This year, 2018, God has really impressed on my heart and mind that this is the year to take the
territory back for Christ. As churches and believers we have lost a lot of territory to the enemy in our
country, families, and even possibly in our own personal lives.
Some territory Satan has robbed us of. Some we have given up by being passive and careless. The
message I am hearing from the Holy Spirit is "It Is Time!!!"
1) It is time for us as followers of Christ to take a stand. (Ephesians 6:10-14a)
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his might power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand
against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of
evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then..."
Four times God's Word here challenges us to STAND!
2) It is time to stake our claim. (Ezekiel 22:30)
"I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf
of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one."
The Lord has really burned this verse upon my heart and mind. I had two different individuals bring
this before me on two different occasions. And the Holy Spirit has been challenging me with this verse.
(Now really, how many people are into Ezekiel?)
How sad that God could not find one person who would rebuild what was torn down and stand in the gap for the people!
Can I ask you, are we willing to stand up, rebuild what the enemy of our souls has torn down, and are we willing
to intercede in prayer for those around us?!?
3) It is time for us to unite in prayer. (James 5:16)
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer
of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
These are critical times! No, we should not live in fear, but we need to be alarmed and desperate for God!
We need to seek His face and ask Him where He wants us to stand and where our position is that we need to
take in our lives and world. (Read 2 Chronicles 20)
God will fight the battle and give us the victory, but we must take our position before Him in prayer and obedience.
God has called me to present this to everyone I can, so I now present it to you.
I am challenging you to take the claim form I have enclosed and pray over it very carefully. To ask the
Holy Spirit of God to put on your heart the territory that He would have you claim for Him. It may be
a relationship that needs to be restored, or an individual who does not know Christ, or maybe a
fellow believer who is really going through difficult times, or a pastor or church that is hurting. What
ever God tells us and impresses upon our hearts and mind, that is the claim in faith we need to stake
and be faithful to in prayer and obedience.
Please, do not take this lightly. This is serious business with the Lord and in the spiritual realm
that Ephesians speaks of. We can only do it in the strength of the Lord.
God is ready to move! It is time! And He is calling us to get involved!
We should not be discouraged by the things that are rising up against God and His people, but we
should come before God in FAITH, HOPE, and ASSURANCE that He has heard and is hearing the cries of His people.
Update: I continue to minister to pastors the God leads me to that need encouragement, fellowship,
and prayer. I have recently reached out to two more pastors and I have also started mentoring another
young man who is in ministry.
God has opened the door for me to preach in two different churches each month, as well as in our
local church on occasion.
Since January 1, 2018, I have been busier in ministry since Haven of Hope was founded in 2009.
So please keep us in your prayers as we move forward.
God bless! Pastor Rick Messer / Pastor of a church without walls.
