Greetings from Pastor Rick and Haven of Hope ministries,

I am writing you to share what God has called me to over 10 years ago. As a pastor myself, God has allowed me the privilege of being a pastor to some great people over the years as a senior pastor of two different churches. As I experienced this great honor, I also came to know first hand the challenges and difficulties that came with the role as well.

God has given me a passion and a calling to be a pastor to pastors who often find themselves on the front line alone. God led me from the senior pastorate to begin a ministry to pastors who are hurting and often just need someone to come along side them to be a support and encourager. Hebrews 10:24 says: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds". We expect pastors to do this for us, but who does it for the pastors.

Every pastor needs a pastor in his life and ministry.

In 2009 we formed a board for the ministry and we launched this ministry to help reach pastors. I have been meeting with pastors in the area that God has connected me with who I can come along side of to council, mentor and pray with. This leg of the ministry is what I would call the "Ministry of Restoration".

The second leg of this ministry is what I would call the "Ministry of Preparation". This is where I am meeting with young men who desire and need a spiritual mentor that they may prosper in their faith and grow in their desire to do God's will.

Today I am asking you to partner with me in prayer as I am taking a step of faith to give myself more fully to this ministry as I see more need and opportunity to be a pastor to pastors and young people. I am also asking you to partner with me in considering supporting this ministry financially. Up to this point I have had a few individuals who know me and the vision for this ministry who have supported it to the point where it covers my ministry expenses with no salary. My prayer is to raise the funds to give myself more fully to the needs of pastors and young men. All I ask of you is that you pray over the pledge card enclosed and see if it is God's will for you to support this ministry in prayer and in giving. If you feel led to support it in faithful prayer, please let me know you are available to receive prayer requests for the challenges before us. If you can and feel led to give monthly, please fill out the pledge card with the amount God puts on your heart.
